You walk into a store to buy your favorite beverage and the condensation, on the doors of the coolers, conceal the contents. So, you open door after door hoping to find the product of your choice. What causes the condensation? Condensation is moisture.
The products in bottle coolers, vending machines, wine coolers, draft boxes and other reach-in coolers are very prone to condensation and "sweat". Both fog and sweat are examples of condensation. It occurs when moisture, in the form of invisible vapor in the warm interior air, meets with the cold surface of the bottle, can or glass doors. This creates several problems including increased energy costs and even lost sales.
Reducing condensation lowers the humidity level. Mega Cold operates on the desiccant principle - adsorbing moisture from the air before it can condense on products and equipment. The Mega Cold Filter, by lowering humidity, provides improved efficiency of the cooler to provide colder temperatures. Condensation is prevented when the dew point temperature of the air is kept lower than that of the products in the coolers (The dew point temperature is the temperature at which a vapor begins to condense). Mega Cold is very effective in producing low dew points. Cold air can't hold as much vapor as warm air so condensation is eliminated.
Mega Cold eliminates "fogging" and condensation on the inside of glass doors and lowers temperatures in coolers that need cold, but not freezing temperatures.
There's a Mega Cold Filter especially designed for each size cooler, including a "brick" size for vending machines. Tests show the savings in energy usage in vending machines is over $200 per year by using the Mega Cold Filter System. Thermostats can be adjusted upwards because of the colder air, which saves energy. Colder temperatures mean colder drinks (even the drinks in plastic bottles feel ice cold to the touch). The "brick" is also a perfect size for prep-line coolers.
Mega Cold Benefits:
- Elimination of condensation
- Fog-free glass doors
- Lowers temperatures up to 7 degrees in coolers
- Coldest drinks in town
- Enhanced appearance of coolers
- Wine labels preserved
- Energy savings

Outback Steakhouse
This is a short letter thanking you for introducing your moisture control products to our establishment. Since I had Mega Cold installed, I have been experiencing remarkable improvements with my equipment. The temperature in the bottle cooler located in the bar area got so much colder, it actually started freezing my non-alcoholic beverages. I am glad you warned me that it may happen and to prevent it, all I had to do was turn my thermostat up. By doing that, it didn't take a scientist to figure out that I was saving energy. My walk-in cooler is holding an even temperature with very little fluctuation. The floors in the cooler which were constantly wet before the installation, are now staying dry and the environment is noticeably crisper and colder.

"In 100 degree heat, soft drinks are freezing in my vending machines that are placed outside of the Piggly Wiggly Supermarket!" Travis Roy, owner of the Piggly Wiggly supermarket in Mandeville, Louisiana states, - "My vending machines are on the front sidewalk of my store, temperatures are reaching 100 degrees and my soft drinks are freezing because of the Mega Cold Bricks in the machines. I really do have the coldest drinks in town! In fact, the drinks machines got so cold the Coca-Cola vending machine technician had to turn the thermostats up and it is still providing "slushy" drinks and I am saving energy which adds up to money saved, and additional soft drink sales.
By the way, even the plastic bottle drinks are feeling ice cold to the touch. That is a first for me. When in town come see for yourself."
Up and Under Pub
The installation of Mega Cold in the reach-in coolers and in the walk-in coolers at the Up and Under Pub has been very successful. The temperature in the reach-in coolers has fallen between 4 and 6 degrees F. The temperature in the walk-in cooler has fallen 7 degrees from 42 to 35 degrees F. A run clock was installed to find out how much the compressor for the walk-in cooler operates during the day without Mega Cold installed and then again with Mega Cold installed. Without Mega Cold, the compressor ran over 14 hours a day. With Mega Cold installed, the time fell to less than 11 hours a day. This will mean that in a year's time the compressor for the walk-in cooler will run a total of 1,095 hours (46 days) less than a cooler without Mega Cold installed in it. This product has not only helped our beer become colder but the savings on equipment wear and tear will be significant. And better yet, the real money savings comes in the electric bill. THE COMPRESSORS FOR THE KEG COOLERS WILL BE COMPLETELY OFF FOR OVER 46 DAYS A YEAR!

Up and Under PubMega Cold™ Filter Information
The Mega Cold Filter contains a proprietary zeolite mineral blend enclosed in a breathable pouch. The pouch is encased in an aluminum bracket. As air moves through the Mega Cold Filter, the zeolite minerals remove excess moisture and odors.
The Mega Cold Filter is installed behind the cooler evaporators. 10 and 20-lb. filters are available. A 10-lb. filter can handle up to 500 cubic feet. A 20-lb. filter can handle up to 1,000 cubic feet. The dimensions of the 10-lb. filter are L15" X H12" X W3". The dimensions of the 20-lb. filter are L30" X H12" X W3". To determine the number of filters required, divide the cubic footage by 500 if using the 10-lb. filter and by 1,000 if using the 20-lb. filter and round up to the next whole number.
10-lb. Mega Cold Filter
20-lb. Mega Cold FilterFor reach-in coolers, the Mega Cold Brick is available. One brick can handle up to 100 cubic feet. The dimensions of the Mega Cold Brick are L7.5" X H4.75" X W3".
Mega Cold BrickLasts Forever
Mega Cold Filters are a one-time purchase. If properly maintained, Mega Cold Filters never wear out and never need to be replaced. Zeolites are characterized by the ability to adsorb and lose water and gases without damaging the crystal structure. Zeolite minerals never wear out.
Maintenance
Every 12 months, dry out the Mega Cold Filters in the sun for 8 hours or bake the filters in an oven at 120 degrees for 2 hours. The heat dries out the filter and releases the moisture and gases that have been adsorbed.
