Save Money on Your Energy Bill

The major problem with commercial cold storage, sub-zero's and flash freezers and sub-zeros is the warm, humid air constantly being introduced when the freezer door is open and when new, warm products are brought in for storage. With Mega FreezeŽ Filters, there is a remarkable difference year round.
Mega FreezeŽ Filters are easily installed, require very low maintenance, work twenty-four hours a day and if properly maintained, never wear out. Mega Freeze filters require no electricity and have no moving parts.
Can't seem to get rid of the icing problem in your freezers even though you are defrosting four times a day? Low dewpoints (the dew point temperature is the temperature at which a vapor begins to condense), are hard to achieve in commercial freezers when the moisture level is high. Moisture comes from several different sources -- warm air entering the freezers through door openings, bad door seals, heat from warm products placed in the freezer, heat from lights, motors, defrost cycles and not keeping the freezer door closed.
This moisture (called latent heat) is actually visible in the form of fogging, condensation, frost and ice buildup. The largest buildup usually occurs at the entrance door, conveyor opening and on the evaporators. Evaporators require several defrost cycles to keep up with the moisture infiltration. Icing compromises the entire system, reducing the capability of the cooling system. This ice buildup reduces the airflow and causes the evaporator fans to become unbalanced, resulting in costly maintenance.
The only way to reduce the icing problem is to reduce the amount of moisture in the air. ICE IS NOTHING MORE THAN FROZEN MOISTURE. The Mega FreezeŽ Filter System is designed to alleviate moisture. It operates on the desiccant principle -- absorbing moisture from the air before it turns into ice. The Mega FreezeŽ Filter is very effective in producing low dewpoints to eliminate ice forming on evaporator fans, walls, floors, ceilings and stored products.
Since the Mega FreezeŽ Filter removes moisture from the air (the latent load), it means that the freezer is actually working more efficiently. Defrost cycles can be shortened and the interval between defrost cycles can be extended, saving energy. This means less wear and tear on equipment and reduced energy bills. Dryer air prevents ice buildup on surfaces, equipment and products. The area becomes a safer place to work (may prevent some insurance claims). Floors won't have to be scraped continuously for ice removal, saving you time and money. The quality of stored products improves. The Mega FreezeŽ Filter System pays for itself in a short time, has no operating costs (requires no electricity) and keeps on working 24/7 year after year.
Mega FreezeŽ Benefits:
ˇ No ice buildup on products, equipment or surfaces
ˇ Improved quality of stored products
ˇ Safer working conditions
ˇ Colder temperatures
ˇ Number of defrost cycles can be reduced
ˇ Reduced energy bills year after year
ˇ Less maintenance of ice and snow removal
ˇ Less wear and tear on equipment and fewer service calls
Case Studies
I'm writing this to let you know the Mega FreezeŽ filters you installed in my store's walk in freezer do indeed work.
It's nice to walk into my freezer and not find ice on the ceiling, floors and on the stored products as was there before the two filters were installed.
What's more, there's no longer any "fuzzy ice" on the products displayed in the freezer. And there is no frost or condensation on the inside of the glass freezer doors.
Best of all, I'm no longer worried about ice falling on or hitting one of my associates or me when one of us is in the freezer.
I'm well pleased with the Mega FreezeŽ product and wanted to let you know that I am.

Bailey Refrigeration was having problems with the new refrigerant R134-A. It's more difficult to drop temperatures to the desired level. Even after replacing components within our system, we are unable to get the results we wanted.
A solution was offered by a dehumidification filter called Mega FreezeŽ. It comes in two different sizes and the correct number to install depends on the total cubic footage of the freezer. They can also be custom made.
The Mega FreezeŽ filters were installed with no difficulty. Seven days after the installation, the freezer temperature dropped from -4 degrees to -14 degrees and has maintained the desired range of temperature even in the tropical waters off Cancun and Jamaica.
We, at Bailey Refrigeration, are pleased to recommend Mega FreezeŽ filters to the refrigeration industry as a solution to an ongoing problem with R134-A refrigerant.

The Mega FreezeŽ Filter contains a proprietary zeolite mineral blend enclosed in a breathable pouch. The pouch is encased in an aluminum bracket. As air moves through the Mega FreezeŽ Filter, the zeolite minerals eliminate excess moisture and odors.
The Mega FreezeŽ Filter is installed behind freezer evaporators. 10 and 20-lb. filters are available. A 10-lb. filter can handle up to 500 cubic feet. A 20-lb. filter can handle up to 1,000 cubic feet. The dimensions of the 10-lb. filter are L15" X H12" X W3". The dimensions of the 20-lb. filter are L30" X H12" X W3". To determine the number of filters required, divide the cubic footage by 500 if using the 10-lb. filter and by 1,000 if using the 20-lb. filter and round up to the next whole number.

Lasts Forever
Mega FreezeŽ Filters are a one-time purchase. If properly maintained, Mega FreezeŽ Filters never wear out and never need to be replaced. Zeolites are characterized by the ability to adsorb and lose water and gases without damaging the crystal structure. Zeolite minerals never wear out.
Maintenance
Every 12 months, dry out the Mega FreezeŽ Filters in the sun for 8 hours or bake the filters in an oven at 120 degrees for 2 hours. The heat dries out the filter and releases the moisture and gases that have been adsorbed.
