Energy Control Systems, founded in June 1987 in by Jeff Edwards, was incorporated as ECS International Inc. in the state of Texas in September of 1988. Edwards is the sole shareholder of ECS International Inc. and the President/CEO of the company.
Its mission is to provide cutting edge power quality solutions to our clients thereby increasing their overall profitability by decreasing overhead costs related to power quality issues. Through our commitment to provide exceptional customer service by emphasizing the integrity, urgency and reliability required to conduct business in today’s world, we strive to create global partnerships which help to perpetuate future business propositions.
During the first ten years in existence, efforts were directed at generating a domestic customer base for the primary product offerings the company provides: power quality and power efficiency equipment and service. During this period of consistent growth the company sales were predominately domestic, with sporadic forays into the international arena.
From 2001 to 2008, the corporation has directed the majority of its energy to growing market share for an international division of the company which has achieved steady growth. In fiscal year 2007 international sales will achieve 40 percent of gross product sales.
Through the past two decades Energy Control Systems has evolved from a single product sales company to a multifaceted, multinational power quality solutions provider and product integrator.
Though the targeted niche market selected by ECS has evolved since 1987, we remain steadfastly focused on electrical power quality and, more recently, the efficient use of power by commerce and industry.
By utilizing a variety of technologies and products and combining them with 20 years of engineering and application expertise, we can effectively reduce electrical/electronic maintenance costs and improve the efficiency of electricity usage within a facility, thus increasing the overall profitability of our client.
Edwards, 50, is a Texas native and holds a BS in Business Administration from Texas Tech University, 1980. Prior to Energy Control Systems, Edwards founded a telephone interconnect company in Fort Worth. For years the company serviced and sold business telephone systems in the DFW area, acquiring over 200 customers in this short period of time before selling the business to concentrate his energies on the new venture, Energy Control Systems.
