SymCom is an industrial, electronic control manufacturer. They manufacture motor protection devices under the brand names of MotorSaver®, and PumpSaver®. Their motor protection products sense the power supplying a load, such as an electric motor, compressor motor or pump motor. If a problem is sensed on that supply power which will damage the motor, then our protectors disconnect the motor before damage occurs to the windings. Their motor protectors sense problems such as: high voltage, low voltage, voltage unbalance, single phasing, phase reversal, over current, current unbalance, clogged pipes (in pumping systems) and dry well (in pumping systems).
Batteries
The heart of any UPS system are the batteries. If you have not fully tested the batteries in your UPS, regardless of the maker, you could be in for a surprise come power outage time. The typical life span of a battery plant is 3-5 years depending on the environment and the amount of time they have been used. Don't be caught in the dark when you need them the most. Grounding Systems...up to the top of this page...The necessity for low resistance grounding is becoming increasingly important. No longer is it a luxury, it is necessary for the continued proper operation of the microprocessor based equipment in facilities worldwide, as well as for personnel safety in every type of commercial and industrial facility.
The challenge is to obtain the lowest possible ground resistance reading, at an economical cost. Terradyne Electrolytic Grounding System is the solution. The TEGS effectively utilizes a hydroscopic process to acquire moisture from the atmosphere. The moisture and the nontoxic chemicals inside the electrode react and create an electrolytic solution.
This electrolytic solution leaches into the surrounding soil through ports that have been positioned in the electrode. This process improves the soil conductivity and dramatically reduces electrical resistance between the electrode and the earth.
In addition to this, the backfill that surrounds the rod also assists in substantially lowering the earth's resistance by creating a direct, low resistance, electrical connection between the electrode and the earth. It is a highly electrically conductive crushed carbon mixture. The use of Terra-Fill backfill will reduce impedance by increasing the effective contact area of the electrode to the soil. At the same time the backfill acts as an insulator so that seasonal temperature fluctuations will not have any effect on the ground resistance. That is, unless the facility is in Arctic like conditions.
Unlike other "chemical" grounding solutions, the Terrafill requires no maintenance on either the salts or the backfill. Expected life span is in excess of 50 years, with optimum ohm readings obtained within 4-6 months of installation. The system itself has a 30 year warranty.
